BitPebble Instructions

Your Pebble is a solo Bitcoin miner. Follow these steps to get it hashing.

Create an account

If you haven't already, sign up for a free BitPebble account. This is where your Pebble's stats and settings live.

Power up your Pebble

Connect your Pebble to any USB power source (phone charger, laptop, power bank). The LED will flash 3 times repeatedly — this means it's ready to be connected to WiFi.

Connect to WiFi

Download the Espressif BLE Provisioning app:

📱 Android — Play Store 📱 iOS — App Store

Open the app and tap Provision New Device. Select your Pebble from the list — it will appear as PROV_BitPebble_xxxxxx. Enter the proof of possession code: abcd1234. Then select your WiFi network and enter your password.

💡 The Pebble has a 5 minute window to be provisioned after power-on. If it times out, simply unplug and replug to try again.

Claim your Pebble

Once connected to WiFi, your Pebble contacts the BitPebble server and flashes a 4-digit claim code in Morse-style on its LED. Each digit is flashed in sequence with a long gap between digits.

On this website, click + Add Pebble and enter your 4-digit code to link the device to your account.

💡 The claim code stays on screen for about 30 seconds, then repeats. Take your time — there's no rush.

Add your Bitcoin address

After claiming, go to My Pebbles and click Edit on your new Pebble. Enter your Bitcoin wallet address — this is where any block reward would be paid. Your Pebble will pick up the address within 30 seconds and start mining.

✓ Once mining starts the LED blinks randomly — that's your Pebble hashing away!

Recovery

If your Pebble gets stuck or stops appearing on the dashboard, leave it powered on. After approximately 24 hours without a successful connection it will automatically factory reset and start fresh — just re-provision WiFi and claim it again. Your account and settings on the website are unaffected.
